Rescue and Recovery: Polly and Cloud’s Heartwarming Adventure

In a heartwarming tale, a captivatingly marked kitten was discovered wandering outdoors, and her wish for companionship was granted two months later, when she was joined by three other cats.
Shelly, a dedicated animal rescuer with over 12 years of experience, was recently alerted to the plight of three kittens in desperate need of assistance.
A compassionate individual had stumbled upon them outdoors, with no mother in sight. Despite their efforts to locate the cat mom, she displayed no interest in tending to her offspring.
The kittens faced a dire situation with their eyes sealed shut due to infections and being underweight. Without hesitation, Shelly rushed to the smallest kitten’s side, delivering essential care, and later returning to attend to the other two.
Despite her already full hands with 16 other rescues, she couldn’t bear to leave the vulnerable kittens to fend for themselves.
“I made the decision to bring them home, fully aware that they had just reached three weeks of age and would soon be ready to begin weaning,” Shelly shared with Love Meow.
She continued bottle-feeding them for a few more weeks while introducing mixed wet food. Shelly affectionately named them Polly, Cloud, and Destiny.
Despite Shelly’s tireless efforts to save them, Destiny, the runt of the litter, sadly succumbed. Polly and Cloud, on the other hand, readily took to the bottle, eagerly filling their little bellies at each feeding.
With improved appetites and proper care, Polly and Cloud’s health gradually improved. Their eyes cleared up, their bodies grew stronger, and their energy levels soared.
“I believe I arrived just in time to prevent any lasting damage. The mother of the kittens has since been spayed, as have a few other cats from the area.”
Polly, the calico kitten, bore stunning markings from birth. Her fur coat only grew more radiant and striking as she matured.
She strutted proudly as she explored her surroundings, with her brother Cloud closely following, his curious eyes exploring everything. Together, they mastered eating from a dish and the art of using a litter box.
“Along the way, Polly and Cloud displayed remarkable progress in their development, just as any kittens should.”
These two siblings were introduced to other foster cats in the house for socialization. After getting acquainted with the other feline residents, they burst into joyful play, seamlessly blending into the group.
Polly and Cloud made a full recovery and blossomed into lively young cats. They made friends with numerous foster kitties, some of whom served as their mentors.
When the time came to find them a loving home, Donna, a previous adopter, pleasantly surprised Shelly by expressing interest in adopting all four kittens.
Donna fell in love with Polly and Cloud, along with two of their
foster friends, and couldn’t bear to separate them.
A week ago, this quartet found their forever home when they were officially adopted.
“It’s not every day that someone offers to give a home to all four of them… It’s an opportunity we couldn’t pass up.”
In less than a week, the quartet has seamlessly settled into their new home, which now accommodates six cats. They explore the space, playing to their hearts’ content, and have developed a deep bond with their human mom and feline siblings.
Their affection for their new human mom and the harmonious integration with their fellow feline companions make it clear that Polly and Cloud have found their perfect forever home.
