Lucille contacted us via Instagram to share her story about her foster cat, Journey, who has special needs due to a fungal infection known as cryptococcosis. Prior to this, we had no knowledge of this condition, but we agreed to feature Journey in an effort to raise awareness about it. Lucille was a pleasure to collaborate with, and we anticipate that our forthcoming interview with her will be both engaging and educational.
When asked about her encounter with Journey, Lucille revealed that she came across him on Facebook. He was being advertised as a cat in a kill shelter with a possible cancerous growth on his face. His arrival at the shelter was with the intent of euthanasia.
The cat featured in the image, who goes by the name Journey, endured an arduous battle with cryptococcosis. He was in agonizing pain and teetered on the brink of death. Fortunately, we managed to rescue him when he came to us on November 3, 2022. Upon laying eyes on him for the first time, tears welled up uncontrollably.
