As it’s a Mediterranean species, you should place it in a sunny area. This way, it will become healthy and strong. An ideal location is on a windowsill or on the veranda.
While it’s true that it needs light to thrive, it’s equally true that the rosemary plant doesn’t need too much water. It’s not afraid of heat or drought. What it doesn’t like is excessive moisture and overwatering. Before watering your plant, check that the soil in the pot is dry.

Otherwise, you shouldn’t water it. Remember that watering the rosemary plant should be small and frequent. If you water it excessively, its green and fragrant leaves will eventually turn brown, and its roots will rot. Also, remember that stagnant water is dangerous – it kills the plant. Make sure this doesn’t happen.
To ensure a long life for your rosemary plant, you should also choose the right soil for use in pots. Know that rosemary needs sandy, well-drained, and limestone soil. Never use clay soil.
