The man, known only as Ron, had a gut feeling that something was wrong when he came across a phone while walking his dog three weeks ago.
The phone belonged to Nicola, a mother of two who has been missing since January 27th. Ron was familiar with Nicola, as she and her partner, Paul Ansell, were the owners of the dog he walked most mornings. When he turned on the phone, a photo of Nicola and Paul appeared on the wallpaper. Ron didn’t know their names, but he recognized them as Willow’s owners.
When Ron found the phone, he thought someone had just left it there. But as he walked further and began to feel that something wasn’t right, he began to investigate. “Because of the wallpaper on the phone we found out who the couple were, and the school was contacted and Paul arrived,” Ron said. He gave a statement to the police and has been reflecting on the three weeks since Nicola disappeared.
