The first man would dig a hole – tirelessly digging away.
The second man would follow, promptly filling the hole – continuously refilling.
Both of these men displayed an astonishing level of dedication; one engaged in digging, while the other diligently restored the ground.
A bystander stood beside the pavement, marveling at the earnestness of their labor, yet struggling to fathom their actions.
Eventually, curiosity got the better of him.
He addressed the hole digger, “I must say, your work ethic is admirable. However, I’m quite puzzled. You dig a hole, and your partner immediately fills it up again!”
In response, the hole digger explained,
“Yes, I realize it might appear rather amusing, but the person in charge of planting the trees is absent today.”
