Across the Channel, officers from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) embarked on a daring mission to rescue a distressed cat from an unfortunate and uncomfortable situation. The little furry creature, later named Lila, was discovered on a busy building site in the July heat, but she wasn’t there by choice. On the contrary, fate led her into a singular and painful ordeal.
