Mishka’s journey began last summer when she mysteriously disappeared from her home in San Diego, California, leaving her family, Mehrad and Elizabeth Houman, devastated. The couple tirelessly searched for their beloved pet, distributing over a thousand flyers, displaying a poster on their car’s rear windshield, and even wearing Mishka’s leash as a constant reminder of their mission to bring her home.
Months passed without any sign of Mishka until a fateful day last week when police in Harper Woods, Michigan, responded to a call about a stray dog wandering the streets. Upon discovering Mishka, the officers brought her to the Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society (GPAAS), where a routine scan revealed an implanted microchip that held the key to unraveling the mystery of her identity.
