David and Victoria are proud parents to four children: Harper, 12, Cruz, 19, Romeo, 21, and Brooklyn, 25. Recently, David shared an emotional post about his daughter Harper growing up. He posted a black and white photo of the pair and captioned it, “My little girl is growing up,” adding a face holding back tears emoji.
In an interview with The Sun, David admitted that he has only ever said “no” to his youngest “once.” He revealed, “Harper is a dream, but the last time I said it, her bottom lip started to quiver and I thought, ‘Never again’. I try to not be tough with the boys but encourage them, especially when it came to football.”
David’s parenting style differs from that of his own father. He recalled, “I used to probably end up in tears every time I got in the car with him after a game. When we won a game or lost it, whether I played good or bad, he would always tell me the things I should be doing and the things I wasn’t doing. As a kid, it’s difficult.”
However, years later, David realized the benefits of his father’s tough love. He acknowledged that he had gotten through difficult moments in his career because his dad was so hard on him at a young age, and he expressed gratitude for that.
The Beckhams’ parenting approach balances encouragement and discipline in raising their children. While David tends to be more lenient with Harper, he still strives to instill important values in all of his kids.
