Krujë (or Kruja)

Krujë, some twenty kilometers northeast of the capital, is an important “sanctuary” for the Albanian people. Kruja Castle, in the heart of the town, houses the Skanderberg Museum, a powerful reminder of the region’s historic wars. Beyond the town, you’ll find the tomb of Sari Saltik and the Qafë Shtama National Park. With its rich history, Krujë is easily explored from Tirana in a day, making it a must-see destination in Albania.
